Where Do I Start
This question was emailed to me, but I thought it would apply to many others. I get questions like this all the time.
"What is the best way to start to implement this method? Should I practice, know all the steps to everything first, or can I start just using some of the language at first. Also, what do I do when I first start, and nobody wants to co-operate. Am I supposed to have the whole house out of instructional control??

Gold Members,
This week's call is scheduled for 8:00 am MST on Friday. (The call information is on the gold site)
If you have any questions for me to answer about TSG principles or about the upcoming school year send them my way. I have loved the questions we have had recently. Many people have said that they were just what they needed, even though they didn't ask the question.
Warmly,
Nicholeen
In this call we talked about teens who are defiant and get violent. We talked about ODD behaviors and sensory issues.
We talked about controlling behaviors and how to be calm when someone else is controlling.
We talked about restraining and when it is appropriate and how to do it calmly.
We also discussed how to stop nagging, how to encourage youth to check back and what to do to help with family consistency.
There was also a question about what to do if the child won't look at you or if he rolls eyes.
Consequences for toddlers/younger children
We are trying to implement the four basic skills into our family, but have run into a problem. What kind of consequences do you give to a 2 1/2 and 4 1/2 year old? My husband and I tried implementing the skills last year and it didn't work because we didn't know how to apply any of it to our young children.
